4chan's anonymity and rapid post-cycle made it an unregulated slang lab. Some output sanitises and goes mainstream (wojak, pepe, dubs/trips/quads, sigma); much stays parked in its corner of the internet. Many terms now associated with TikTok actually originated here years earlier.
