2024 was the year mid finished its slow saturation, brat summer happened, looksmaxxing leaked from a fitness subforum into mainstream news, and 'Roman Empire' became the format for any thought you couldn't stop having. It was also the year algospeak fully matured — unalive and seggs went from creator workarounds to default vocabulary for under-18s.
This is a snapshot of what landed. A few of these (mid, looksmaxxing) survived into 2025; others (Roman Empire, beige flag) had already cooled by year-end. The fast-twitch words listed here mark a specific historical moment.
