A rare piece of LGBT slang, used informally within lesbian communities to describe a young or newly out lesbian who is still finding her identity and community. The -ling diminutive suffix gives it an affectionate, sometimes teasing quality, similar to other community-internal terms that use smallness to signal newness or inexperience. As with many identity-related terms, it's most comfortably used within the community itself.
