A lax bro is the archetypal stereotype of a male lacrosse player — typically prep school or college-aged, wearing a mesh shorts-and-backwards-cap combo, with a flow haircut spilling out from under the brim. The lax bro persona includes being casually overconfident, aggressively chill, and fluent in a very particular dialect of American frat-adjacent slang. Not all lacrosse players are lax bros, but every school with a lacrosse team has at least a few. The term is affectionately mocking as often as it is sincere.
