Style, swagger, flair, attitude — the visible confidence of someone who knows they look good. From Punjabi/Hindi टशन, popularised across India by the 2008 Yash Raj Films movie of the same name and by Punjabi music. Used in fashion talk ("that outfit has tashan"), in Bollywood reviews and in everyday compliments about someone's walk, dress sense or vibe. Carries a slightly aspirational, slightly cocky edge — tashan is style with deliberate intent, not accidental cool. Most common in North Indian and Punjabi-speaking circles but recognised across South Asian English thanks to films and music videos.
Look at his tashan in that new car — he has been waiting all year to drive it to the office.
