Uncoly is a rare Scottish dialectal adverb meaning strangely or weirdly, used to describe something done in an unusual, uncanny, or unsettling manner. It derives from 'unco', the much better-known Scots word for strange or unusual — made famous by Robert Burns in the phrase 'the unco guid' (the rigidly righteous). Uncoly adds the adverbial '-ly' suffix to extend that meaning. Extremely rare in modern usage; more likely to appear in historical Scots literature or dialect dictionaries than in everyday speech.
