A farby uniform might have a modern zipper, the wrong fabric, or anachronistic buttons. The word is used by serious reenactors to call out lazy or incorrect portrayals of history. It carries a gentle-to-pointed level of scorn from the authenticity crowd. If you're really committed to period accuracy, farby is basically the worst thing you can be.
