(UK) A subculture which arose in the United Kingdom in the 1990s, centered around traditional working-class male attitudes and interests, often in rejection of the perceived strictures of feminism or the concept of the New Man.
This is frequently traced back to the birth of lad culture in the mid-90s, which itself tends now to be characterised as a reaction against “feminism gone too far”.
