Laddism is a British cultural phenomenon — the attitude and lifestyle of the 'lad': heavy drinking, sports obsession, crude humor, casual sexism, and a general disdain for anything considered too intellectual or sensitive. It peaked in the 1990s with lads' mags and football culture but never fully went away. Today it's often called out as toxic, though defenders insist it's just harmless banter. Either way, laddism is a recognizable behavior pattern that anybody who's been to a UK university will know immediately.
