A mid stan is someone whose dedication to a fandom is disappointingly average — they know the hits, own one or two pieces of merch, and will show up online during the big moments, but they're not putting in real work. They miss comeback streams, they don't vote in polls, and their knowledge gaps become embarrassingly obvious when real stans start talking. Mid stans often think they're deeper into the fandom than they are. They're harmless but offer little to the collective effort when the charts actually need them.

A K-pop fan who supports only one member of a group (rather than the whole group), often pejorative when used by group-loyal fans (OTx stans).

A mega stan operates on a level of fandom that makes regular stans look casual. We're talking multi-city tour runs, complete discography ownership in every format, a fan account with a larger following than most influencers, and an ability to cite deep-cut facts from a decade ago without breaking a sweat. Mega stans are often the people who actually built the fandom infrastructure — the fan wikis, the streaming guides, the anniversary threads. They are the lore keepers, the culture keepers, and occasionally the chaos agents.

An L stan is the tragic inverse of a W stan — someone whose fave keeps delivering losses, controversies, and messy moments, yet the stan remains devoted through every humiliation. L stans are not necessarily bad at stanning; sometimes they just picked wrong. They defend the indefensible, explain away the receipts, and watch helplessly as the discourse buries their fave again. Being an L stan is exhausting, but there's something oddly admirable about the loyalty. The fandom respects the commitment even while watching the spiral.

A sus stan is a fan whose behavior or motivations seem a little off — they're stanning but in ways that raise eyebrows. Maybe they're suspiciously aggressive in defending the celebrity in every thread, maybe their account appeared overnight with an oddly complete fandom knowledge base, or maybe their 'support' for the fave seems designed more to cause drama than celebrate. Sus stans make other fans uncomfortable because the energy doesn't quite add up, and the community ends up spending more time watching them than engaging with the actual content.
