A mid stan is someone whose dedication to a fandom is disappointingly average — they know the hits, own one or two pieces of merch, and will show up online during the big moments, but they're not putting in real work. They miss comeback streams, they don't vote in polls, and their knowledge gaps become embarrassingly obvious when real stans start talking. Mid stans often think they're deeper into the fandom than they are. They're harmless but offer little to the collective effort when the charts actually need them.

A K-pop fan who supports only one member of a group (rather than the whole group), often pejorative when used by group-loyal fans (OTx stans).

A mega stan operates on a level of fandom that makes regular stans look casual. We're talking multi-city tour runs, complete discography ownership in every format, a fan account with a larger following than most influencers, and an ability to cite deep-cut facts from a decade ago without breaking a sweat. Mega stans are often the people who actually built the fandom infrastructure — the fan wikis, the streaming guides, the anniversary threads. They are the lore keepers, the culture keepers, and occasionally the chaos agents.
