A small, brightly colored wooden hut found on beaches in the UK and Australia, used for changing into or out of swimwear and storing beach gear. Known as beach huts in standard British English, the term "bathing box" is the older, more quaint variant still used in parts of Australia. They're iconic seaside features, often painted in cheerful stripes or bold colors, and can sell or rent for surprising amounts of money at popular beaches.
They rented a bathing box at the Brighton beach for the whole summer and practically lived on the shore.
