A playful call-out or moment of verification where someone confirms — for themselves, their group chat, or the entire internet — whether their person actually qualifies as bae. Sometimes it's a flex ('bae check: he already texted good morning'), sometimes it's a warning system ('bae check: she hasn't watched your story in three days'). Bae check borrows the checkpoint format to turn relationship status into a quick-read report. It lives in the same universe as vibe checks but points specifically at romantic or situationship energy.

A bet check is the verbal or textual nudge you give someone to confirm they're still on board — a lightweight pulse-check using slang's most casual agreement word. If 'bet' is the handshake, a bet check is asking if the handshake is still in effect. It's used when plans are loose, commitments were made over text at 2am, or you genuinely need to know whether 'bet' meant 'yes I'll be there' or 'sounds good, I'll probably flake.' One small phrase that does a lot of social maintenance work.
