Definitions
In music slang, a driller is a rapper who operates primarily in the drill genre — someone whose sound is built on ominous trap production, deadpan delivery, and lyrics that reflect the harsh realities of street life in Chicago, South London, or wherever the local scene has taken root. The term can be used admiringly by fans recognising authentic genre dedication, or applied loosely to anyone whose music carries that cold, nihilistic drill energy. At its peak the word describes an artist who isn't performing toughness — they are it, sonically and otherwise.
He's been a driller since before drill had a name — go back and check the 2013 mixtapes.

- drill god71%
A drill god is someone who has mastered the drill genre to the point of legendary status — an artist whose impact on the sound, the culture, or the scene is so total that the word 'rapper' doesn't cover it anymore. The term is used by fans to elevate figures like Lil Durk, Pop Smoke, or Headie One above mere excellence into something approaching mythology. Being called a drill god isn't just a compliment; it's an acknowledgement that the person helped define what drill is, shape what it sounds like, and show everyone else how it's done.
- drill70%
A hip-hop sub-genre with dark, sparse beats and aggressive, often violent lyrics. Chicago drill birthed it; UK drill and Brooklyn drill dominated the late 2010s–2020s.
- drill69%
Construction tool. The rap genre name plays on "drilling" as aggressive/rapid action; the tool sense is older.
- drill king69%
The undisputed top dog of drill music — an artist whose flow, beats, and street credibility sit so far above the competition that the crown basically belongs to them by default. The drill king isn't just technically nice; he sets the sonic template that everyone else bites. From Chicago's dark sliding hi-hats to UK drill's melodic menace, whoever holds this title shapes what the genre even sounds like. Calling someone the drill king is high praise with receipts attached.
- drill core67%
An aesthetic category that packages drill music's visual and sonic identity into a recognizable style — dark hoodies, bleak estate photography, minimalist violence, and 808-heavy beats stripped back to pure menace. Drill core is what happens when the culture gets genre-tagged on TikTok and Pinterest: moodboards of grey council blocks, balaclava fits, and late-night corner energy. It's both a genuine subculture and its own Pinterest rabbit hole at this point.
