Think Mamma Mia, a charcuterie board with exactly the right ratio of brie to crackers, or a playlist that moves from sad indie to early 2000s bops without warning. The girlies know it when they see it.

An aesthetic defined by the visual, emotional, and cultural language of female friendship — think sleepovers rendered in pink and fairy lights, inside jokes written on mirrors in eyeliner, group photos with arms around each other and eyes half-closed from laughing. Girlies core is the aesthetic of belonging to a girl squad at its most idealized: the matching pajamas, the grocery store runs that turn into two-hour hangs, the specific warmth of being known by people who actually know you. It romanticizes the ordinary texture of girl friendships and presents it as worth documenting and celebrating.
