The activated state of being continuously, actively stunned — when someone or something is performing at such a high level that you spend the entire experience in a state of suspended disbelief. Gagged mode isn't a single reaction, it's a sustained condition: you entered the venue, the concert, the thread, the video normally and then something activated and now you cannot close your mouth. People enter gagged mode at runway shows, surprise album drops, and unexpected glow-up reveals, and they usually don't exit until significantly later.
From the first look to the finale I was in full gagged mode, I did not recover.
