Hyper sus describes a level of suspicion that's been amplified past normal perception into hypersensitive, almost paranoid territory — either because the person genuinely is that shady, or because your radar has been calibrated by too many past betrayals. Where mega sus is about the severity of the evidence, hyper sus is also about the intensity of the feeling. It's when every little thing seems loaded and you can't turn the detection off. Sometimes warranted; sometimes you're just in your head.
After what happened last summer, I'm hyper sus about anyone who 'just happens' to be in the same area as my ex.
