intertrons

A humorous slang term for the internet, using the '-trons' suffix to make it sound like a piece of fictional sci-fi technology. The word plays on the tendency to add '-tron' or '-trons' to words to sound futuristic or absurdly technical. Used affectionately or sarcastically to mock the mystification of internet technology by people who treat it as inexplicable magic.

A playful, mock-technical term for the internet, treating it like it's built from actual physical particles called 'trons'. It's the kind of word you'd use when poking gentle fun at tech jargon or pretending to be baffled by modern technology. Most at home in humorous online posts or among people who enjoy joking about how mysterious and magical the web seems to non-techies. It gives 'I'll ask the intertrons' a wonderfully absurd charm.

(slang, humorous) The Internet.
