Pilled mode is the active state of operating fully inside a particular ideology or belief system you've been radicalized into — red-pilled, black-pilled, doomer-pilled, whatever flavor it is, you're not just familiar with the worldview, you're broadcasting it. In pilled mode, every conversation becomes an opportunity to push the perspective, every piece of news confirms the thesis, and stepping outside the framework feels impossible. It's most often used ironically to describe someone deep in a rabbit hole who can't stop talking about it — whether the topic is politics, fitness culture, anime, or cryptocurrency.

A suffix attached to any topic to mean "fully converted to that viewpoint." "Espresso-pilled," "bike-pilled," "sleep-pilled." From "red-pilled" (The Matrix, 1999), generalized to any conversion. The word works because it compresses "I tried this, it changed me, I'm now proselytizing" into one syllable.

To be gorpcore pilled is to have been fully converted to the technical outdoor aesthetic — you've taken the fleece, so to speak. Before the pill: you dressed like a normal person. After: you're researching the best mid-layer for urban commuting, arguing about whether Salomon or Hoka runs the trail-runner lane, and refreshing the Arc'teryx sale page. The pilled framing acknowledges both the enthusiasm and the mild absurdity of becoming deeply invested in gear you'll mostly wear at the grocery store.
