In NYC slang, being in mad mode means the usual filters and restraints are off and you're just running on full energy — whether that's in a creative flow state, a social setting where you're the life of the party, or a competitive situation where you're performing at a level that's making everyone else look like they came unprepared. Mad mode is not a sustainable state. But when you're in it, it's everything.
