Definitions
A nonstarter so spectacularly hopeless it deserves its own trophy. Not just dead on arrival but DOA in a fireball. Mega nonstarters are the kind of ideas that make a whole group go silent, then burst out laughing. They're the proposals so far outside the realm of possibility that even the person suggesting them knows it the second the words leave their mouth. Used ironically to describe colossal misjudgments — whether in relationships, business, or general life choices that never had a prayer.
Pitching a subscription fee for the office coffee machine was a mega nonstarter — HR got the email by noon.

The absolute pinnacle of futility — a nonstarter so perfectly, textbook hopeless that it becomes almost iconic. Peak nonstarter isn't just a bad idea; it's a bad idea in full bloom, operating at maximum nonstarter frequency. The kind of move that gets screenshot and captioned 'study this.' Used to describe proposals, decisions, or situations that have achieved a rare, almost admirable level of unworkability. There's a dark comedic appreciation baked in — you almost respect how completely it fails to be viable.

Corporate hard-no. A proposal, compromise, or question that's dead on arrival. Deploying it in a meeting is the polite-but-firm way to kill a bad idea without arguing the merits.
- nonstarter coded75%
When something reads as fundamentally dead-on-arrival before anyone even tries to explain it — the energy, the vibe, the whole situation screams 'this will never work.' Not just a bad idea but one that carries the unmistakable aura of futility. If a plan is nonstarter coded, no pitch, pivot, or rebrand can save it. The failure isn't in the execution; it's baked into the DNA. People use this to call out proposals, relationships, or business moves that had zero chance from the jump.
