Oofiness is a dated and now largely forgotten British slang noun meaning the quality or state of being wealthy, flush with cash, or financially comfortable. Derived from 'oof' (19th-century British slang for money, possibly from Yiddish), oofiness carries a slightly comic, archaic flavour. It would now only appear in historical fiction, period dramas, or deliberate retro pastiche.

The word derives from 'oof', which was Victorian-era slang for money. Being oofless was the natural opposite — having none of the stuff.
