peepoSad

The general name for the rounder, cuter Pepe-the-frog variant that powers a huge family of BTTV/FFZ emotes (peepoHappy, peepoSad, peepoClap, peepoLove, peepoRun, peepoStab, etc). Peepo is essentially Twitch's chibi mascot. Each variant covers a specific mood, so chat can react with extreme emotional precision using only peepo emotes.

A round, smiling Pepe variant. Part of the peepo family. Used as a wholesome, low-key positive reaction — less hype than POG, less laugh-coded than KEKW, just plain 'that made me smile'. Often paired with peepoClap.

A sad Pepe the frog with his face in his hands, an FFZ emote predating Sadge. Used when something on stream genuinely hits emotionally — a story about a death, the end of a long stream series, a beloved character dying in a game. More somber than Sadge, often used solo rather than spammed.

A BTTV emote of Pepe the frog crying, the modern successor to FeelsBadMan. Posted when something genuinely sad happens on stream: a streamer loses their pet in-game, a sub leaves, the stream ends, a tournament run dies. Usually spammed in a column. Strong Twitch-to-Discord crossover; teenagers now type 'sadge' in regular text chat to mean 'that's a bummer'.

The original sad-Pepe emote, a Matt Furie panel of Pepe with a downturned mouth saying 'feels bad man'. Predates Twitch — it came from 4chan in the late 2000s — but became canonical on Twitch as the all-purpose 'that sucks' reaction. Largely replaced by Sadge for newer Twitch users but still posted by old-school chatters.
