Smeggy is British slang for something bad, foul, inferior, or disgusting, derived from 'smeg' — itself a shortening of smegma. The term gained wide cultural currency through the British sci-fi sitcom Red Dwarf, where 'smeg' served as a general-purpose expletive on par with 'crap.' Calling something smeggy implies it is unpleasant, substandard, or generally objectionable. The register is informal, playful, and slightly adolescent, carrying a distinctly British comedic flavour.
- SMD59%
An acronym with multiple lives depending on context, but in internet and text slang its dominant meaning is a blunt, vulgar dismissal — short for 'suck my d***' — used to tell someone off, shut down a conversation, or respond to provocation with maximum disrespect. In technical contexts it also stands for Surface Mount Device (electronics), Soil Moisture Deficit (agriculture), or Standardized Mean Difference (statistics), but anyone typing it in a DM or comment section is almost certainly using the slang version. Context is everything with this one.
