Definitions
The narrative trajectory of someone who transitions from trustworthy to completely fake — the visible story of a person's descent into snake behavior that, looking back, always had the signs. A snake arc is most often spotted in retrospect: the small betrayals you dismissed, the loyalty that started slipping, the gradual shift in energy right before the knife went in. It's become a staple of social postmortems and group chat autopsy sessions where everyone traces exactly when things went wrong.
We were looking back at the whole thing and he had the most predictable snake arc — the signs were there from month one.

- snake check69%
The deliberate process of assessing whether someone in your circle is being fake, disloyal, or playing both sides. A snake check is the social audit you run when something feels off — messages that don't add up, stories that shift, energy that's suddenly different. You're looking for the tells: the inconsistencies, the too-friendly behavior with your enemies, the way their story changes depending on who's asking. Running a snake check isn't paranoia; it's due diligence.
- snake fail66%
When someone attempts to be sneaky, two-faced, or strategically deceptive — and gets caught immediately, spectacularly, or stupidly. A snake fail is the universe correcting bad behavior in real time: the lie that contradicts itself, the screenshot that gets shared, the fake story that falls apart the moment two people compare notes. There's immense satisfaction in a well-executed snake fail because the person thought they were operating at a high level and the reality was very different.
- snake up66%
To switch sides by resorting to authorities, to become treacherous, to rat.
- unspoken snake65%
The betrayal or deception that everyone in a group has quietly clocked but nobody has said out loud yet. Unspoken snake is the open secret of a social circle — the person whose fake behavior is widely sensed but unconfirmed, the elephant in the room that everyone's waiting for someone else to name first. There's a strange tension in an unspoken snake situation: collective awareness with collective silence, until eventually someone says it and the whole group exhales.
- sus snake64%
A sus snake is someone who hasn't fully committed to betrayal yet but is giving off all the warning signs — they're watching too closely, asking questions that feel oddly specific, and smiling a little too hard whenever drama breaks out. Different from a confirmed snake, a sus snake is in the pre-betrayal phase: vibes are off, receipts are piling up, and the group is quietly on alert. The suspicion hasn't become certainty, which makes them more dangerous in some ways. Everyone's waiting for the moment they finally show their hand.
