synergize pilled

The state of entering full corporate buzzword autopilot — when someone (or a whole team) switches into a mode of performative collaboration where every sentence contains a power verb and meaningful action is conspicuously absent. Synergize mode is a satirical term for the meeting-room personality that emerges when people optimize for sounding strategic rather than actually being useful. It's the professional equivalent of talking to hear yourself talk, dressed up in the language of high-performance teamwork. Once synergize mode activates, expect a lot of 'circling back' and 'moving the needle.'

The act of pushing corporate team-player performance to its absolute limit — attending every optional meeting, volunteering for every cross-functional initiative, and weaponizing collaborative language in every interaction to maximize the perception that you are a strategic team asset. Synergize maxxing is the professional equivalent of grinding for optics: the goal isn't better outcomes, it's a reputation as someone who 'brings people together.' It works best in environments where visibility matters more than output, and it's equal parts impressive and exhausting to witness from the outside.

Used to describe a person, email, presentation, or communication style that is completely saturated in corporate collaboration language — the kind that substitutes buzzwords for actual ideas and mistakes process for progress. If something is synergize coded, it's been optimized for the appearance of strategic alignment rather than genuine meaning. The term is usually applied with affectionate contempt: the synergize coded email that says a lot and commits to nothing, the synergize coded coworker who speaks entirely in frameworks. It's a specific, recognizable type and everyone in a modern workplace has met it.

When someone's push to collaborate, align, or synergize feels less like genuine teamwork and more like a strategic move to absorb credit, offload blame, or establish leverage. Sus synergize is the office political play disguised as cooperation — the colleague who keeps adding you to meetings and CC'ing leadership, the manager who wants to 'co-own' your project right before the review cycle. It's synergizing with an ulterior motive, and the moment you clock it, every subsequent outreach from that person reads as suspicious regardless of intent.

Verb form of synergy, used with a straight face in strategy decks. Technically means "combine so the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" — usually just means "collaborate."
