Definitions
A prolonged stretch of life — weeks, even months — during which everything you touch somehow ends badly, as if the universe has scheduled a dedicated period for you to spectacularly underperform. Throwing szn isn't one bad day; it's a narrative arc defined by fumbled opportunities, bad decisions, and catastrophic timing stacking on top of each other until even your friends start quietly wincing. Named after the sports tradition of declaring a season, it signals that the losing streak is systemic enough to deserve its own calendar slot.
January through March was full throwing szn for me — every single decision was the wrong one.

- shitter szn79%
A prolonged period when a person, team, or situation is consistently performing badly or generating terrible output. Shitter szn implies the low quality is not a one-off but a recurring theme that has settled in for a while.
- l szn75%
A period of time — often personal, sometimes cultural — characterized by a wave of Ls hitting harder and more frequently than usual. L szn might be cuffing season when everyone's getting coupled up except you, or playoff time when your team collapses, or a stretch of weeks where nothing goes right. Declaring it L szn is equal parts self-pity and dark humor: a way of framing a rough patch as a legitimate season rather than just random bad luck. The framing implies it will eventually end, which is the small mercy.
- valid szn73%
A phase or stretch of time where things are genuinely clicking — real wins, authentic connections, situations that actually deserve the hype they're getting. Valid szn is declared when life isn't just good but good in a way that holds up to scrutiny. No cap, no performance — just a run of things that are legitimately working. Often called at the start of a new chapter: a job change, a relationship glow-up, a personal breakthrough that finally stuck.
- w szn73%
W szn — short for 'W season' — is a stretch of time in someone's life defined by consecutive wins, good fortune, and things just going right. It's the opposite of an L szn and carries the energy of a hot streak that feels almost cosmically orchestrated. Whether it's landing a new job, getting into a relationship, or watching every bet pay off, W szn is the period you'll look back on and say everything lined up. People announce the start of their W szn as a statement of intent as much as observation, willing their momentum into existence.
- gutted szn72%
A stretch of time — usually tied to a sport season, awards cycle, or cultural moment — where collective devastation becomes the shared vibe. During gutted szn everyone on your timeline is processing a loss, a snub, or a cancellation simultaneously, and the grief bonds you. It's communal, almost rhythmic; you know gutted szn is here when the sad-reaction emojis outnumber everything else and the group chat goes quiet for twenty minutes after a result drops.
