Unspoken benching is the stealth version of being kept on hold — there's no explicit 'I'm not ready for a relationship' conversation, no direct acknowledgment that you're option B. Instead, the whole situation just quietly exists in an ambiguous limbo that neither person ever names. The bencher never confirms or denies anything; the benched person half-knows what's happening but has nothing concrete to push back on. It's the most emotionally confusing form of benching precisely because it comes without any of the language that would let you respond to it.
