Unspoken receipts are the evidence everyone in a situation already knows exists but nobody has explicitly produced — the screenshots that haven't been posted yet but whose existence is understood, the paper trail that hasn't been pulled but is clearly there. It's the implied threat of accountability: you know the receipts are out there, they know the receipts are out there, and the whole interaction is happening in the shadow of what could be produced but hasn't been. Unspoken receipts often carry more power than actual receipts because they leave everything to the imagination.
