(Internet slang) On the social instant messaging and VoIP service Discord, the practice of joining a person's server (collection of chatrooms) in exchange for said person mutually joining one's server back, generally with the goal of artificially inflating one's server membership count.
Gaming shorthand for 'very nice' — dropped in chat to quickly salute a great play, a clutch kill, or a smooth move in any online game. It's faster than typing out the full phrase and carries a genuine energy of peer respect. In competitive gaming communities, VN is currency: brief, sincere, and immediately understood. Sometimes it shades into sarcasm when someone does something catastrophically bad and the team still types VN, making it even funnier.
