(Internet slang) On the social instant messaging and VoIP service Discord, the practice of joining a person's server (collection of chatrooms) in exchange for said person mutually joining one's server back, generally with the goal of artificially inflating one's server membership count.

Gaming shorthand for 'very nice' — dropped in chat to quickly salute a great play, a clutch kill, or a smooth move in any online game. It's faster than typing out the full phrase and carries a genuine energy of peer respect. In competitive gaming communities, VN is currency: brief, sincere, and immediately understood. Sometimes it shades into sarcasm when someone does something catastrophically bad and the team still types VN, making it even funnier.

A Discord feature (and many third-party bots) that lets users play short audio clips into a voice channel. Used for memes, sound effects, and chaos. Discord's built-in soundboard launched in 2023 and is integrated with Nitro. Soundboard abuse (spamming clips) is one of the most common voice-channel moderation issues.

A specific Discord channel type for one-to-many audio events — designated speakers can talk while everyone else listens. Used for AMAs, panel discussions, podcast-style streams, town halls. Modelled loosely on Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces. Less commonly used than regular voice channels but standard infrastructure for large events.
