Definitions
When someone fully leans into passive, low-effort behavior — whether in a game, a group chat, or real life — they've activated camper mode. It means going invisible, minimizing risk, and letting everyone else carry the action while you exist quietly in the corner. Not necessarily lazy, just strategically unhelpful. Often used affectionately to describe a friend who shows up but contributes nothing, or a gamer who parks in one spot waiting for kills to roll in.
I'm in full camper mode this weekend — don't tag me in plans, I'm not leaving my couch.

- sus camper75%
A camper whose stillness and hidden positioning raises red flags — they're not just hiding to avoid action, they're hiding in a way that feels calculated, deceptive, or straight-up shifty. In games, a sus camper is someone who camps near objectives in a way that suggests they're up to something beyond passive play. In everyday life it describes someone who goes quiet at exactly the wrong moment, disappears when accountability comes up, or lurks without ever making their intentions clear. Something's off and you can't prove it.
- camper75%
A person who stays in one spot during a first-person shooting game, to guard an item etc.
- camper75%
A player who hides in one spot to ambush opponents instead of moving around — considered a cheap, annoying tactic in FPS games. "Spawn camper" is the darkest form: waiting at the respawn point to kill newly-spawned players on cooldown. Universally hated.
- camper god73%
A camper god is the player who has elevated the art of hiding-in-one-spot to a level that transcends cheap tactics — they've turned patience, positioning, and spatial awareness into a legitimate skill set. Every kill is earned through superior anticipation, perfect angles, and the psychological torture of making enemies afraid to move. In gaming communities the term is half-insult, half-grudging respect. Camping is technically frowned upon, but when a camper god is on the server, even the people complaining in the chat secretly acknowledge the mastery.
- camper fail72%
The delicious moment when a camper's whole strategy blows up in their face — they hid in the perfect spot, waited forever, and still got caught, killed, or called out. A camper fail is the universe's way of punishing excessive passivity. In games it's getting flanked while you were busy not moving. In life it's hiding from a difficult conversation for so long that it becomes a bigger problem than if you'd just dealt with it immediately. The irony is peak content.
