Definitions
A conspicuous, undeniable breakdown in someone's usually reliable style game — a drip fail is when the outfit doesn't land, the pieces clash, or the flex backfires spectacularly. It gets clipped, screenshotted, and shared. Drip fails are often funnier and more memorable than wins because they reveal the gap between ambition and execution. Even the most reliably stylish people have them, which is part of what makes calling one out feel communal and forgiving rather than purely mean.
The carpet look was a certified drip fail — three different aesthetics fighting each other.

- adrip fail91%
An outfit or styling choice that was clearly aiming for something elevated but landed somewhere painfully, visibly wrong — a drip attempt that misfired in a way everyone in the room clocked simultaneously. An adrip fail isn't just a bad outfit; it's a bad outfit that tried. The ambition makes the miss more spectacular. It could be a colour combination that should have stayed in the drafts, accessories that are fighting each other, or an outfit that works on the mannequin and absolutely nowhere else. Chronicled gleefully online, the adrip fail is fashion humility in its purest, most public form.
- mid drip83%
Fashion that's technically fine but fails to inspire — mid drip lands in the vast, uncelebrated space between bad outfit and actual style. It's not a drip fail (no disaster to laugh at) and not a flex (nothing to admire). Mid drip is the beige wall of personal style: competent, inoffensive, and completely forgettable. People who aspire to drip culture fear mid drip more than they fear failure, because at least a fail is memorable. Mid just disappears.
- flash fail78%
A flash fail is when someone's attempt at looking impressive or stylish backfires spectacularly — the flex becomes a flop, the drip becomes a drip in the leaky-pipe sense. You tried to flash and instead you flopped. This can be an outfit malfunction, a botched hair moment, a flexed purchase that looks clearly fake, or any public attempt at impressiveness that goes visibly wrong. The sting of a flash fail is extra potent because the failure happens in front of an audience you were actively trying to impress.

Style; especially expensive or well-coordinated outfits and accessories. To "have drip" means dressing impressively.
- drip75%
Verb: "to drip" — to wear stylish clothes, to look stylish. "He's dripping today."
