Describing a person, situation, reply, or entire relationship dynamic that carries the hallmarks of gaslighting without necessarily being explicit about it. Gaslight coded is the 'something feels off here' flag — the passive-aggressive non-apology, the 'I was just joking' after something actually hurtful, the explanation that somehow makes you feel like the villain. It's a useful shorthand for identifying manipulation-adjacent behaviour before you can fully articulate why the situation is making you feel crazy.
