Definitions
Watching a stream without typing in chat — leaving the tab open, often muted, sometimes minimized. Twitch counts lurkers as viewers (which boosts streamer rankings), so lurking is socially encouraged. Chatters often type 'lurking' at the start to announce they're here but won't be interactive, then disappear.
