Describing someone or something as fundamentally, inherently, baseline intense in the way that is distinctively New York — that quality of operating at high volume, high speed, with high standards and exactly zero patience for slowness. Something or someone that is mad coded just reads as NYC at a cellular level. The bluntness, the pace, the willingness to argue about everything, the extremely strong opinions about pizza and subway etiquette. You can take them out of New York but the mad coded DNA does not leave.
