The underwhelming middle ground between a dead event and something actually worth your time. Mid lit is the purgatory of nights out — not bad enough to leave, not good enough to remember fondly. The music is fine. The crowd is okay. You're having a technically acceptable experience and that's the problem. Mid lit events generate mild enthusiasm and mediocre Instagram content. You'll say it was 'good' if someone asks, but you'll also be the first one to suggest leaving at midnight. It's the participation trophy of going out.
The party was mid lit at best — like, fun enough that I stayed, but I definitely won't be bragging about it tomorrow.
