Backstory or mythology that exists but fails to pull you in — competent enough to acknowledge, but not interesting enough to go looking for more. Mid lore has all the ingredients of depth without the payoff: there's a history, there are details, but none of it lands with the weight it's supposed to. The character has a tragic past that doesn't feel earned, the game world has five civilizations that all blend together, the drama has layers but somehow remains boring. Mid lore makes you wish the writer had just skipped it.
The game itself is great but the mid lore had me skipping every cutscene — three ancient empires and none of them are interesting.
