Mid velocity describes content or a creator that is moving but not impressively — some growth, some engagement, enough to suggest the algorithm is not actively suppressing you, but nowhere near the explosive momentum needed to break through. Mid velocity is the purgatory of the creator economy: too alive to abandon, too sluggish to celebrate. It generates enough feedback to keep posting but not enough reward to feel like the effort is justified. Creators sitting at mid velocity often debate whether to change strategy entirely or whether they are one viral post away from the breakthrough that never quite comes.
Three months in and still at mid velocity — decent numbers but nothing compounding, and it's hard to know if I should stay the course.
