Mod mail

A chat command (often a hot-key/emote) that prints '!modcheck' or pings the moderator list to see who's actually awake and on duty. Used jokingly when chat is rule-breaking and no mods are stopping it, or sincerely to summon a mod when raids/spam start. Many bots respond automatically with a count of active mods.

A Discord feature/bot pattern where members self-assign roles by reacting to a message with an emoji. A bot watches the message and adds/removes the matching role. Used for opt-in pings (e.g., game-specific notification roles), color roles, pronoun roles, age/region tags. The most common bot for this is Carl-bot or YAGPDB.

An automated bot used to flood a Discord server or Twitch chat with messages, often coordinating with multiple alt accounts to overwhelm moderation. Distinct from a Twitch 'raid' (a friendly cross-channel viewer hand-off). Raid bots are universally bannable, and most large servers/Twitch channels run anti-raid bots that auto-ban accounts matching raider patterns.

Running a bot on your own Discord user account (rather than a proper Discord bot account) — automating reactions, message responses, voice-channel joining, etc. Self-botting violates Discord's Terms of Service and can get the account terminated. Common in cheat-engine and 'farming' communities for grinding rewards.

A staple Twitch chat phrase posted whenever moderators are AFK and chat takes the opportunity to break a rule or post forbidden memes. Almost always followed by mass-posting of whatever the chat isn't usually allowed to do (a banned emote, a horny copypasta, raid taunts). Self-defeating: posting 'mods asleep' is itself a flag that wakes up mods.
