A noob arc is the early phase of someone's journey with a game, fandom, or skill — the period when they were making obvious beginner mistakes, asking basic questions, and getting wrecked by people with more experience. Looking back on your noob arc is a rite of passage; it proves growth. Content creators often mine their noob arc footage for both laughs and inspiration, showing how far they've come since those catastrophically bad first sessions.

- int arc73%
The story arc of a player — or occasionally a streamer or pro — during which their gameplay deteriorates so badly, so publicly, and so consistently that observers begin narrating it as a character development. The int arc is watched with fascination: each death builds the lore, each terrible decision adds a chapter. The arc framing implies it has a beginning, a chaotic middle, and an eventual resolution — usually either a ban, a public breakdown, or an unexpected comeback that redeems the whole thing cinematically.
- npc arc71%
An NPC arc is a character development phase — ironically, the phase where there is no development. It describes a period in someone's life where they were completely passive: doing what was expected, following routines, letting others drive the story. Usually invoked retrospectively, like 'I was deep in my NPC arc junior year.' The arc framing borrows from anime and TV culture, suggesting even the bland chapters of life are part of a larger narrative. Sometimes it's self-aware and funny; sometimes it's a quiet admission that you lost yourself for a while.
- noob check69%
A noob check is a test — sometimes deliberate, sometimes spontaneous — that reveals whether someone is a genuine beginner or just pretending not to know something. In gaming it might be an obvious trap a veteran would never fall into; in a fandom it's a basic lore question every true fan knows. Failing a noob check is embarrassing but instructive. Passing one you weren't expecting is a quiet flex. Either way, the noob check does not lie.
- noob69%
A newb or newbie; someone who is new to a game, concept, or idea; implying a lack of experience.
- noob mode69%
Noob mode is the state of operating as a complete beginner — making rookie mistakes, missing obvious clues, and generally bumbling through something you'd normally know how to handle. It's not always an insult; people self-apply it when they're jet-lagged, distracted, or trying something genuinely new. 'I'm in noob mode today' is an honest heads-up that your performance will be subpar. In games, noob mode can literally mean playing on the easiest difficulty setting.
