The mindset or active state of someone who is aggressively seeking out posts to ratio — scrolling with intent, looking for bad takes to publicly dismantle through superior reply engagement. Entering ratio mode means you've decided to be a force of community correction, or at minimum a chaos agent in the comment section. It's not passive consumption; it's targeted engagement with a purpose. People go into ratio mode after seeing something particularly egregious, or sometimes just because they're in the mood to watch numbers flip.

When someone attempts to ratio a post and spectacularly fails — their reply gets far fewer likes than they expected, the original post gets boosted instead, or the community sides with the person they were trying to bury. A ratio fail is its own form of public humiliation because it announces that you tried to flex internet power and got exposed as not having it.
