Everyone has watched someone go through their angrify arc: the sweet colleague who finally snaps, the patient parent who reaches their limit, the fan who starts out defending a celebrity and ends up posting essays. The term frames real emotional journeys through the storytelling lens of character development.

The narrative trajectory someone goes through as they escalate — or de-escalate — from agitated behavior. Used to describe a person's journey through a period of high aggression, especially when viewed from the outside with some narrative distance. Someone who was raging online for weeks and then suddenly went quiet has completed their aggy arc. The term borrows from character arc language, framing real-life behavior with the detached analysis you'd give a TV protagonist.

The full story of someone's descent into — and hopefully eventual recovery from — habitual angryphone behavior. An angryphone arc usually has a clear inciting incident (the ignored text, the dismissive reply, the group chat that left them on read), a middle period of escalating unhinged messages, and ideally a resolution where they put the phone down and go touch grass.
