The arc has recognizable stages: legitimate content, declining performance, first tentative inflammatory post, positive engagement metrics, full commitment to outrage farming. Audiences use the term to map how someone went from being earnest to being a deliberate provocateur, treating the transformation as a story with a recognizable shape and a disappointing but predictable ending.

The story arc of a player — or occasionally a streamer or pro — during which their gameplay deteriorates so badly, so publicly, and so consistently that observers begin narrating it as a character development. The int arc is watched with fascination: each death builds the lore, each terrible decision adds a chapter. The arc framing implies it has a beginning, a chaotic middle, and an eventual resolution — usually either a ban, a public breakdown, or an unexpected comeback that redeems the whole thing cinematically.

The full story of a romantic situationship or relationship — every phase from the first text to wherever it ends up — narrated as if it's a character arc in a TV show. People document their bae arc in real time through posts, TikToks, and voice memos, tracking the plot beats: the flirting era, the 'what are we' conversation, the soft launch, the eventual end or upgrade. Calling it an arc frames romance as something with narrative structure, which is both very Gen Z and a coping mechanism for when things go sideways.
