A gaff fail is when your home, flat, or personal space catastrophically fails to deliver — either as a party venue, a chill spot, or a general living environment. The boiler breaks the night you invite people over. The lock jams when you're trying to get in at 2am. Your gaff fail becomes a story people tell about you for years. It's also used loosely for any hosting disaster where the venue (your gaff) is at least partly to blame. Equal parts mortifying and legendary.
Absolute gaff fail last night — the Wi-Fi died, the heating packed in, and someone sat on my only good chair and snapped the leg.
