The mental state of being fully switched on for interaction — responding to everything, posting actively, showing up in comments, DMing people, and generally being a visible and participating presence rather than a passive scroller. Engage mode can be deliberate (a creator pushing a launch) or spontaneous (someone who just got interesting news and can't stop talking). When people announce they're in engage mode, they're signaling that today they are not a lurker. The opposite is ghost mode or NPC mode.

The relentless pursuit of peak engagement metrics across every platform — stacking posting times, reply baiting, cross-posting across channels, and engineering every piece of content for maximum algorithmic reward. Engage-maxxers treat the attention economy like a competitive sport and their own audience like a resource to be optimized rather than a community to be nurtured. The term carries enough irony to acknowledge the exhaustion built into the strategy, and enough accuracy to sting anyone who recognizes themselves in it.

Describes someone who has fully internalized the logic of social media engagement as a core value — optimizing post timing, studying analytics, A/B testing captions, and treating every piece of content as a lever for maximizing interaction. The engage-pilled person can't look at a photo without mentally calculating its thumbnail crop, or read a headline without diagnosing its click-through potential. Used both earnestly in creator circles (badge of craft) and ironically everywhere else (commentary on brain-poisoning by metrics).

The apex moment of someone's interaction performance — a post, response, or live interaction that hits every metric simultaneously and becomes the benchmark people keep referencing. Peak engage can describe a sincere high point (the post that finally broke through) or a satirical one (the brand tweet that accidentally started a discourse war it didn't plan for). In both cases, it marks a before-and-after in someone's digital presence. Creators chase it; some stumble into it; most are still waiting.

A state of frenetic, maximum-output execution where everything is being done at once, urgently, and with more energy than the situation strictly requires. Hyper-actioning is productivity without brakes — responding to every message immediately, completing tasks before they've been properly defined, and generating so much motion that it's hard to tell progress from chaos.
