Often more memorable than the lore itself, and usually the story that gets retold at every gathering forever.

Someone whose knowledge of a fictional universe's lore — or the deep background of a real-world fandom saga — is so comprehensive it borders on supernatural. A lore god doesn't just know the plot; they know the expanded universe, the retconned backstory, the supplementary material nobody else read, and exactly where the timeline inconsistencies are. In gaming communities they're the person who answers every 'wait, but why does—' before you finish the sentence. In fan spaces they're the oracle everyone consults before posting a theory, lest it get immediately dismantled.

A call-out or verification moment where someone is assessed — by themselves or by the community — to determine whether they are truly worthy of the lodi title. A lodi check is a reality test: are you actually putting in the effort, delivering the results, and carrying yourself like the idol people have made you out to be? It can be a playful self-audit or a pointed community challenge. Failing a lodi check means your reputation just took a hit. Passing one means the admiration was earned.

Backstory or mythology that doesn't quite add up — the kind of lore that raises more questions than it answers, contradicts established facts, or seems like it was written to hide something rather than reveal it. Sus lore triggers the theorist brain: something here was retconned, something was quietly removed from the canon, or the official story doesn't match the evidence. In real life, sus lore is what happens when someone's origin story has too many convenient gaps and implausible timestamps.

A noob check is a test — sometimes deliberate, sometimes spontaneous — that reveals whether someone is a genuine beginner or just pretending not to know something. In gaming it might be an obvious trap a veteran would never fall into; in a fandom it's a basic lore question every true fan knows. Failing a noob check is embarrassing but instructive. Passing one you weren't expecting is a quiet flex. Either way, the noob check does not lie.
