A mid stan is someone whose dedication to a fandom is disappointingly average — they know the hits, own one or two pieces of merch, and will show up online during the big moments, but they're not putting in real work. They miss comeback streams, they don't vote in polls, and their knowledge gaps become embarrassingly obvious when real stans start talking. Mid stans often think they're deeper into the fandom than they are. They're harmless but offer little to the collective effort when the charts actually need them.
Don't ask her to prove her fandom, she's a mid stan at best — she only knows the three singles and she slept through the midnight release.
