Peak DPS is the number you're always chasing but rarely hit: simulation software calculates it, logs reveal how close you got, and the gap between your actual and your peak DPS is essentially a performance report. In broader use it describes anyone operating at the absolute ceiling of their capability — the best version of their output on the best possible day, everything going right, zero waste.

Peak op describes the absolute apex of something being overpowered — the moment, build, or version where power hits its theoretical maximum before any nerfs, patches, or reality checks arrive. In gaming it's the character before the developers realized how broken they were. In real life it's someone at the peak of their game before burnout, ego, or circumstance levels them. Peak op is always retrospective; you often only recognize it once it's gone, which makes it bittersweet as much as impressive.

When the gap between players is measured purely in victories — one side is just winning more and that difference becomes the whole story. W diff acknowledges that skill, strategy, and stats all matter less than the win column, and someone is simply W-pilling the entire lobby. It's a compliment as much as a callout, recognizing that whatever someone is doing, it's producing Ws at a rate that leaves everyone else in the dust.

The highest point someone has ever been assessed — the evaluation that captures them operating at absolute maximum capacity. A peak eval is either celebratory (this is the best they've ever looked) or bittersweet (this was as good as it ever got). In chess it often describes the best position a player achieved before losing. In sports and social contexts it marks the moment when someone's ratings were highest before the decline began.

Peak carry is when a player — or person — is operating at the absolute top of their carry capacity, the apex of what they can achieve in terms of individual performance and impact. It's the game where every mechanic clicks, every decision lands, every resource is maximized. Peak carry is invoked both in admiration ('you're watching peak carry right now') and retrospectively ('that was peak carry, I don't think I can hit that again'). The 'peak' framing acknowledges that this level is exceptional and temporary — it can't be sustained, which makes it worth marking and celebrating while it's happening.
