A hitbox god is a character, move, or weapon in a game whose collision detection is so generous, wide, or misleadingly invisible that it seems to defy all logic and spatial reasoning. When a hitbox god move lands from what looks like miles away, or hits you when you could swear you were already out of range, the whole lobby erupts. The term is usually applied with a mixture of frustration and dark appreciation — the hitbox shouldn't work that way, and yet here you are, losing to pixels that weren't visually anywhere near you. Fighting game and action game forums are full of hitbox god hall-of-fame moments.
